Korean Heart American Mind
It’s in the name, born and raised in America, but nurtured in a Korean household. Houston - a bustling, diverse city with a Korean community smaller in comparison to Houston's stature but growing nonetheless. Growing up in this unique city has made my taste universal. However, Korean Food has a special place to me, it’s like home. Fascinated with Culture and Food, it embarked me into a pursuit in food studies. With a warm glow I made my move to the Big Apple and it embraced me warmly with its uniqueness.
Before I embarked into my studies, I worked at a Houston Food Bank, where I was able to have hands- on experience witnessing an environment to relieve food insecurities. I was able to see the correlation on how culture played an essential role into the distribution of produce as well as other necessities that pantries needed to operate.
Now in a new setting, I am so fascinated by the rich culture of NY. The city has always been known as the city of immigrants, where dreams are made of, and the melting pot of the country. The historical city has made me fall in love with the diverse markets, making it a new hobby to explore the different markets in the city.
Please follow me in my search for delicious foods in the city, as well as testing out new and personal recipes in my small white kitchen. I look forward to showing traditional dishes like Kimchi and new dishes like Korean Chicken Sandwiches.
